Danger. After an outage, returning voltage often rebounds in uneven steps before it settles. A device that reconnects instantly walks the television straight into that rebound, so a reconnect delay of 30 seconds or more is worth checking before you buy.

Reading the Label: Specifications That Matter

Ignore the response-time figures printed in nanoseconds; any competent design clamps faster than a rising surge can reach the panel. Buy against four numbers instead.
